Is Mormonism Biblical?
Mormonism, also known as “The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints” is said to have over 16 million members worldwide. They believe that everyone on earth is a son or daughter of a loving God. But the Bible tells us that no one is a child of God until they are born again into the family of God when they receive Jesus Christ as their Saviour. (Galatians 3:26), (John 1:12), (John 3:1-7). This is a very serious error/heresy that they teach because anyone that is not a child of God will burn in hell for all of eternity! (John 8:41-47).
The Mormon Church on their website states this; “In the spring of 1820, a young man named Joseph Smith prayed to God with great concern for the salvation of his own soul and to know which church he should join. God and Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph and began to prepare him to bring back (or restore) the precious truths and the sacred authority that had been lost from the Church Jesus Christ formed while on the earth. Under the Lord’s direction, Joseph Smith organized The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 6, 1830.” They also teach that he received the Book of Mormon (which we will look more into in a moment).
