A DAY TO REMEMBER
A Day to Hope For
Prov 29:18
Many if not most of our Podcasts are dated because of our conversations prior to the Bible Studies. There are some of the Bible Studies that are dated themselves, this would be one of them. But I believe that the content of this study will be just as relevant for someone listening at some future date.
The time in which most find themselves as we record this podcast is perilous, uncertain, fearful. Across the land people are hunkered down at home, practicing Social Distancing.
Many people are panicking clearing the shelves of numerous items fearing the worst. Many fear catching the Covid 19 virus or family members catching it, Many fear the Economic Crisis (businesses shut down, lay offs, Unemployment ) fear for themselves personally nationally. Fear of Social unrest, or Political Uncertainty
While the President and a few others are trying to calm the fears of a nation, you have those who are fanning the flames of the national fear.
Media and Politicians are operating with the idea of never letting a Crisis go to waste. They are taking advantage of this Crisis to push their biases and political preferences, either through legislation or their incessant hate for our President
Sadly many Christians are in fear because of the circumstances we are in presently. But even before this Crisis, Christians were showing their insecurities and compromises of our mandate, to be salt and light in this world, all of this being brought on by the social pressures of this world to be more like them than to be like Christ.
Christians have their minds and eyes set on things down here that pull them away from God rather than toward him.
Pr 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
God has given the Christian something to look forward to
To keep him focused on what is important to keep him encouraged and less likely to fear the circumstances and the future or the opposition of this world.
This world has stolen our hope
And where there is not hope in the future, there is no power in the present.
Heb 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
That was Peter’s problem looking at the wind boisterous, he was afraid
He took his eyes off of Jesus
Tit 2:11-15 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, 12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; 13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; 14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. 15 These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.
Joh 14:1-3 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
There is a day coming in which every Christian is to have his eyes fixed upon not looking at the storms bu on him and his appearing
There are 5 Chapters in I Thess Each ch ends with a ref to the Second Coming of the Lord
I
1Th 1:9-10 For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God; 10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.
It is a day to look forward to because all that we have read and heard will then be a reality
The exhilaration on realizing the truth of it all
Everything we have been through will have been worth it #149
Look in vs 3
1Th 1:3 Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;
Kids hate the word wait we have been waiting but he is coming
It is a promise just as sure as his Res. Is You can count on the Lord’s Glorious Return
Notice the last part of vs 10
which delivered us from the wrath to come.
It is a past action Of a future event It is a present possession
We will be taken out of here before God’s wrath is poured out
this could be a ref to Hell or Lake of Fire or Final Judgement
But rather a ref to the Tribulation when God’s wrath is poured out on his creation which has rejected him And turned to the Antichrist
Re 16:1 And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth.

1Th 2:19-20 For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming? 20 For ye are our glory and joy.
It is a day to look forward to, because we will be in the presence of our Saviour Jesus Christ
No longer will we see him solely through the eyes of Scripture
But we will see him Face to face
Face to face with Christ my Savior, Face to face what will it be?
When with rapture I behold him, Jesus Christ who died for me
Face to face I shall behold him, Far beyond the starry sky
Face to face in all his glory, I shall see him by and by
but secondly to see those whom we have had some part in their Salvation
Family Friends Chance meeting
See the waitress from Pensacola Gene Chapman
See some people that all you did was pass out a gospel tract to and never saw them again Great rejoicing
To See the Spiritual Family tree How it moves back and forward
Because of your witness to someone how many people it affected
I wonder if anybody knows who led D.L. Moody to the Lord?
D. L. Moody, the famous Evangelist, when eighteen years of age, was a boot salesman in his uncle’s store in Boston. His Sunday School teacher was a Mr. Kimball, and he had set his heart on winning the young man for Christ. After praying about the matter, he arranged to visit him at the boot store. “I was determined,” to use his own words, “to speak to him about Christ and about his soul, and started down to Holton’s boot store. When I was nearly there I began to wonder whether I ought to go in just then during business hours. I thought my call might embarrass the boy, and that when I went away the other clerks would ask who I was, and taunt him with my efforts in trying to make him a good boy. In the meantime I had passed the store, and, discovering this, I determined to make a dash for it, and have it over at once. I found him in the back part of the building wrapping up shoes. I went up to him at once, and putting my hand on his shoulder, I made what I felt afterwards was a very weak plea for Christ. I don’t know just what words I used, nor could Mr. Moody tell. I simply told him of Christ’s love for him, and the love Christ wanted in return. That was all there was. It seemed the young man was just ready for the light that then broke upon him, and there in the back of that store in Boston, D. L. Moody gave himself and his life to Christ.”
Forty years afterwards, when preaching in Boston, Mr. Moody himself thus described the effect of his conversion upon his life: “I can almost throw a stone from Tremont Temple to the spot where I found God forty years ago. I wish I could do something to lead some of you young men to that same God. He has been a million times better to me than I have been to Him. I remember the morning on which I came out of my room after I had first trusted Christ. I thought the sun shone a good deal brighter than it ever had before. I thought that it was just smiling upon me, and as I walked out upon Boston Common and heard the birds singing in the trees, I thought they were all singing a song to me. Do you know? I fell in love with the birds. I had never cared for them before. It seemed to me that I was in love with all creation. I had not a bitter feeling against any man and I was ready to take all men to my heart. If a man has not the love of God shed abroad in his heart he has not yet been regenerated.”
Mr. Moody’s experience was the same as that of the poet who sung:
“Heaven above is softer blue,
Earth around is sweeter green;
Something lives in every hue
Christless eyes have never seen.
“Birds with gladder songs o’erflow,
Flowers with brighter beauties shine,
Since I know, as now I know,
I am His, and He is mine.
Estimates have him winning a million people to the Lord

1Th 3:12-13 And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you: 13 To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.
It is a day to look forward to, because we will be blameless in holiness before God
We have the imputed righteousness of Jesus Christ, which is charged to our account
But for the first time to be totally free from sin
To never sin against my God again
Never needing to confess to him of my wicked heart and deeds
Oh what a day to look forward to
IV
1Th 4:13-18 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
It is a day to look forward to, because we will experience flight without any aid from man.
In a moment in the twinkling of an eye sling shot rides
We have the hope, in that day, that we will see those who have died before us once again
To see our loved ones who were saved and Born Again
There is comfort in that
See the saints of old See the trophies of God’s grace

1Th 5:8-10 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. 9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.
It is a day to look forward to, because we will not experience God’s Wrath
Thankfully because of this fact we will not go through the Tribulation spoken of in the book of Revelation
But also we will not experience Hell
We will not go through the torment of burning forever without relief
Mr 9:44 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
Why? Because we have placed our Faith and trust In Christ
What about you? Are you saved? Have you been Born Again
Are you going to be left behind, because you are not truly a Christian?
I’m here to warn you Ye must be born again
The day we are looking forward to Will be the day you will regret
That you did not take the free gift of Salvation
Christian:
We truly have a day to look forward to Don’t let anyone steal your hope
Tit 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
Re 22:20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
