Does The Bible Condone Same Sex Marriage?

Introduction: God created the first man and woman and instituted marriage.
In the book of Genesis the first book in the bible we see that God made the creation in 6 literal days and rested on the seventh. God made the first man Adam, and in [Genesis 2:18] the Bible says; “And the Lord God said, it is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.” Now turn in your bible to [Genesis 2:21-24] “And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a manleave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.” So you can see that marriage is not a man made invention, marriage was started and initiated by God Almighty who gave the woman to the man to be an “help meet for him”. Now turn in the New Testament to [Matthew 19:4-6] which is Jesus speaking; “And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.” Also look what Jesus sais about this in [Mark 10:6-12].

Where did we get marriage from? Well as you can see from these passages in God’s Holy and perfect Words in the King James Bible, that marriage came from God. From God’s written words to us. God explains very clearly that it has always been between a man and a woman from the very beginning.

1) What does God say about homosexuality?
-God’s word does not use such terms as “homosexual”, “gay”, and “lesbian” God calls people that commit sexual acts with their same sex “sodomites”. Some might argue that a sodomite is nothing more than an inhabitant from the city of Sodom, but God uses the word “sodomite” in reference to homosexuals long after the ancient city of Sodom is destroyed: [1st Kings 14:24 ; 15:12 ; 22:46] and [2nd Kings 23:7].

2) Which term is more proper? “sodomite” because that is what God calls them.
-‘Homosexual” is a neutral technical term while “gay” is a nice term that the news media have made up for them. To be “gay” in the dictionary is to be merry and joyful. To be a sodomite is to be wicked and sinful [Genesis 13:13]. So gay is certainly not the proper title. We are warned in [Isaiah 5:20] that God is very displeased whith people who apply good words to evil things.

3) Is sodomy a sin? Yes, because God said it is:
1. [Genesis 13:13]
2. [Genesis 18:20]
3. In Genesis chapter 19 we see the events that take place with the city of Sodom and how God destroyed that city because of the wickedness that was taking place there with men committing sexual acts with other men.
4. [Leviticus 18:22] “Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.”
5. [Leviticus 20:13]

4) The boldness of these people:
-[Isaiah 3:9] “The show of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves.”
-Pride is a chief sin of the sodomites [Ezekiel 16:49] “Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.”
-“Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.” [Proverbs 16:18].

5) What the New Testament says about sodomy – The New Testament also condemns this sin.
-[Romans 1:21-27]
-In [2nd Peter 2:6] the word “ungodly” is used in connection with sodomy: “And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;”

6) Can a sodomite be cured?
-God tells us there is a cure because there is a cure for ALL SIN. God is willing to cleanse any person of this sin and forget it forever! Some people have the strange idea that God cannot forgive certain sins, but the bible says otherwise:
-[1st John 1:7]”…and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.”
-[Revelation 1:5]”And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us and washed us from our sins in his own blood.”
Conclusion:
Sin is sin no matter what it is. The Bible said you can keep all of God’s laws, but if you break just one of them you are guilty of them all [James 2:10]. We have all sinned and come short of the glory of God, we have all fallen short of heaven [Romans 3:23]. “But God commendeth his love toward us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us” [Romans 5:8]. Listen please accept God’s free gift [Romans 6:23] by repenting of your sins [Luke 13:3] and call upon the Lord Jesus Christ to be your saviour right now [Romans 10:9-13] if you do, you will have a place reserved in heaven for you for all eternity!
